The girl was only 15 years old when she drowned, leaving behind a son who will be forever changed.
Her mother, a teacher, told the BBC that the family had been looking forward to having their daughter back for Christmas.
But in the last two years, the teenager has been living in a different life, and her family are struggling to keep up with her.
